Application DBA Presently, Financial Control is developing an in-house state-of-the art MIS, budgeting & forecasting and Financial Reporting system. This requires documenting user requirements, conducting user acceptance tests, parallel run and live production. This is a significant project requiring, a good understanding of MIS and profitability reporting, business analytical & IT skills. The candidate should be capable of being an active and valuable contributor in the development of this project specifically from the UAT planning stage through live implementation and thereafter. Ability to train users and in-house staff, understand business dynamics to develop meaningful MIS on an ongoing basis, maintain system and process integrity. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES • Monitor backups and other application responsibilities in liaise with data center. • Schedule “Builds” within the application and monitor integrity of database. Builds are required to be run after maintenance of GL/FRL/MRL, OUC changes. • Prepare and populate the Cognos cubes as per business requirement. (approx 40 cubes will be run daily, adhoc cubes/reports may be requested by users that will have to be prepared), • Manage the Cognos – Budget & Planning application. o Preparing the B&F application for the various cycles. o Assign user rights to newly designated MIS staff from the businesses and maintain them in sync with FRAS. o Transfer data to and from FRAS and ensure issues, if any, are resolved with STG. • Perform day-to-day Admin task on Cognos and FRAS Admin (DB patrol run, upload adjustments prepared by the business users, update month-end rates/pool rates, ensure pre-month-end run preparation is completed by 25th, B&F process of populating the task on Cognos and FRAS. • Manage the Month-end and Year-end processes on FRAS. • Monitor the adjustments / maintenance performed by business to ensure data integrity. • Help business perform data upload into FRAS. • Reporting to the Senior Application DBA. ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION • Degree in Computer Science with background of finance applications • Certificate / Diploma in Cognos/Hyperion/Oracle Application suits preferred. EXPERIENCE • Should have experience of working in a financial institution in similar position • Proficient in written & spoken English. • Proficient in SQL Language. • Proficient in usage and design of OLAP cubes • Proficient in use of software packages likes MS Office (knowledge of macros will be added advantage) & MS Project • Good communication and presentation skills.
