It is ranked among the largest firms in Saudi Arabia. The company is comprised of twenty-three different divisions, joint ventures and standalone companies. The group offers a wide range of products and services, including: engineering and contracting, marine services, port management, automation and control, manufacturing, transport & logistics and telecom products. Our Client's Chemical Division URGENTLY requires a RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CHEMIST. This role will ideally suit an R&D Chemist over 40 years of age, focusing mostly on construction chemicals, bringing a working lifetime of experience to the group. The job will be based in DAMMAM, SAUDI ARABIA, just an hour drive across the causeway to the ever progressive BAHRAIN. DESCRIPTION Plan, organise and complete R&D projects in timely and cost effective manner. Research and develop new water based construction materials, putties, cement, adhesives and paint products. Update and optimise existing paint, adhesives, coatings, epoxies, sealants and putty formulations. Perform laboratory tests to determine chemical & physical characteristics or composition for purposes such as quality control, process control, or product development. Test materials used as ingredients in water based construction chemicals (eg. grouts, tile adhesives, mortar plasticisers), coatings (roof and water resistant), putties, epoxies, sealants, waterproofing materials, paints and adhesives (contacts and PVC) ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS 15+ years experience in a similar field, ie. chemical experience with all of the materials mentioned above. Over 40 years of age, reflecting the number of years experience being sought. Must be fluent in English, both conversationally and written. DESIRABLES Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering or related field, but the focus will be on experience. Current or past experience in the Saudi Arabian market. Knowledge of Arabic, conversationally or written. Those currently in Saudi will be considered favorably, but not essential. Salary is negotiable and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
