| Mechanical Engineer, Maintenance Planning & Reliability Maintenance GENERAL SUMMERY Inspects, advises and coordinates maintenance/ repair/overhaul work of oil production facilities (Such as separator, water treatment facilities, and offshore production facilities). Studies, analyzes and plans overhaul schedules for these facilities. Compiles and submits reports. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Designs and prepares specifications of preventive maintenance and carries out skilled inspection work on all areas of KJO’s mechanical equipment. 2. Prepares scope of work, including specifications, drawings and other electronical parts of tender documents for project instruments. 3. Evaluate the technical bids and proposals submitted by the bidders for instrument equipments. 4. Reviews specifications, drawings and other instrument documents submitted by the contractor or supplier. 5. Supervise monitors and inspect contractor’s work during the contract execution to insure compliance with the terms and conditions of the contract, and reports any discrepancy between contract and actual work to his supervisor. 6. Attends start-up, testing and commissions of mechanical equipment or parts of facilities, and reports to supervisor on accept abilities as well as assist in minor overhaul of various equipments in the workshop. Check, replaces and recalibrate equipment parts to make sure all equipments are working. 7. Consults other departments concerned to verify engineering output and mechanical parts of facilities. Participates and assists in the regular visual inspection of all mechanical and associated equipments in assigned areas, to monitor condition and operation and to locate potential problems. 8. Studies new technology and application of a wide variety of analyzers. Follow up all repairs and corrects any problems as observed and informs supervisor of serious abnormalities. 9. Assists in the on-site implementation of improvement/expansion projects with regards to field mechanical equipment, including assisting engineers on site, carrying out actual installation, connection, configuration and running tests on equipment prior to handover. 10. Coordinates with mechanical craftsmen on the maintenance of heavy equipment (compressors, turbins and pumps) by dismantling associated components. INDEPENDENCE OF OPERATIONS Performs his duties to professional technical standards. Work assigned is subject to review and direction. PHYSICAL EFFORT & WORK INVIRONMENT Spends 30% of time walking and standing, 70% of time is spent in an air-conditioned office environment and 30% of time exposed to outside prevailing weather. MINIMUM REQIREMENTS A. B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. B. 8 years in the Mechanical Engineering of oil related facilities plus 1-year on- the job training. C. Very good knowledge in English. D. PC literate wit Word, Excel and PowerPoint. E. 3 years work experience in the Middle East. | |
